Q: Will the funeral home accept a Legacy Assurance casket?

A: Yes. As part of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Funeral Rule, funeral homes are required to accept any casket purchased from a third party or outside source, including Legacy Assurance. If a funeral home fails to abide by the FTC Funeral Rule, that funeral home could face penalties of up to $16,000 for each violation and possibly even the suspension of their license to operate a funeral business.

 

Q: Will the funeral home charge an additional handling fee for using a casket purchased from Legacy Assurance?

A: No. State and Federal Laws prohibit any such additional fees from being added.

 

Q: What are the benefits of the 18-gauge steel caskets that Legacy Assurance offers?

A: Legacy Assurance prides itself on offering high-quality merchandise.  Our 18-gauge caskets are extremely durable, assembled with care, and are available in a variety of detailed finishes.

 

Q: What do I get for being a Member of Legacy Assurance?

A: All Legacy Assurance Members have access to our free Concierge Service.  In areas where our funeral merchandise is available, you will be able to select from our variety of high-quality caskets to our fiberglass burial vaults and customizable monuments and markers, all at a fraction of the average cost offered by a funeral home.

 

Q: Will Legacy Assurance product prices change for Members?

A: No. The price quote you are given upon enrollment is good for the lifetime of the Member.

 

Q: Do prices include shipping?

A: Yes. All merchandise prices include standard shipping. Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost.

 

Q: How long does it take to receive a Legacy Assurance casket?

A: Using standard shipping, caskets and vaults will arrive at the destination address within 72 hours after the purchase is finalized and confirmed. Severe weather conditions or other states of emergency may delay delivery beyond the normal stated parameters.

 

Q: What role will the Legacy Assurance Concierge Service play in the funeral process?

A: Our experienced team will aid in negotiating with multiple funeral homes of your choice to make sure that you and your family are getting the best funeral price available.

 

Q: Do I need to be at the funeral home to receive the casket?

A: No.

 

Q: Do I need to be at the delivery location if the casket is being delivered to a location other than a funeral home?

A: Yes. If merchandise is delivered to a location other than a funeral home, the carrier and the recipient must arrange for a delivery appointment, and someone must be present to accept the delivery at the appointed time.

 

Q: What is the Return Policy?

A: Due to FTC and some state regulations, Legacy Assurance will only accept the return of a casket, vault, or other such merchandise if the damage was caused during shipping.

 

Q: Is the Legacy Assurance Concierge Service available in all states?

A: Yes.

 

Q: In what states are you approved to sell and ship funeral merchandise?

A: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont, Washington and Wyoming.

 

Q: Can I enroll my family in a Legacy Assurance plan?

A: Yes. One of our Advocates would be glad to enroll anyone interested in becoming a Legacy Assurance member.

 

Q: Why should I become a member of Legacy Assurance?

A:  Being a member of Legacy Assurance comes with several benefits:

    1. Access to all of the high-quality merchandise that we offer.
    2. Our caskets are 1/3 to 1/2 of the cost of what you would pay at a funeral home.
